Valentines Day

After a hectic week we decided to celebrate Valentines Day a day late this year. We bobbed into Catalan Tapas on a whim and they were so accommodating. The restaurant was so busy but they managed to squeeze us in. And I'm so glad they did because.....Damn it was good!
As you can see from the photo, we went a little nuts. Clockwise from left:
Patatas Bravas
Fried tomatoes with a spicy tomato salsa

Tortilla con Chorizo
Freshly made spanish omelette with potato and spicy chorizo

Punititas
Strips of fillet beef sautéed in red wine with roasted peppers and shallots

Calameres Fritos a la Romana
Tender baby squid, deep fried spanish style with a wedge of lemon

Championes al Ajillo
Mushrooms sautéed with garlic and butter, finished with Fino sherry

Empanada Manchego
A home made pastry turnover filled with leeks, courgette, peas, garlic and chalet bound with manchego cheese

Artichoke Hearts
Char-grilled hearts in olive oil and herbs
Desert was equally as delicious. Passion fruit cheesecake and chocolate brownie.
The food at Catalan Tapas was fantastic, as was the service even though the restaurant was full to bursting! I was really impressed with the selection and quality of the vegetarian dishes too.
