Summer has officially arrived. Which means it's time to start the inevitable internal mini-meltdown. This year especially, the thought of getting my kit off and wearing a bikini in front other actual human beings fills me with sheer, unadulterated terror.
The fact is, it's time to get my ass in gear and get down the gym. Unfortunately my old trainers just don't fit well enough or work hard enough when it comes to hitting the treadmill, running like a mad woman, trying desperately to burn off that last skinny latte.
So, the answer to any problem? Online shopping.
I chose the Hi-Tec V-Lite 5.0 Running Trainer in wine, peach and stone. These trainers are really lightweight. The colours are lovely- bright enough to jazz up your gym attire, but not so bright your feet resemble a pair of traffic cones. The wine fabric (I'd probably describe it as more of an aubergine colour) is a breathable mesh. The grey is a protective layer to keep out dirt and debris if you're running outside. The website says that these trainers promote a more natural running style by potentially promoting a mid-foot / forefoot strike rather than a heel.
I'll keep you posted and let you know how I get on with these when I put them to the test!
The Hi-Tec V-Lite 5.0 is available online here for £64.99. They do run a little on the small side so I chose to go up half a size when I ordered.
Have you tried any of the Hi-Tec running trainers? What do you think?
