Organic Surge Spiced Lily Foaming Bath

Sometimes you just need a bit of me time. My favourite way to relax and unwind is with a hot bath full of bubbles and a good book. Can't beat it.

I decided to go to Boots and check out what they had to offer. Unfortunately traffic was a nightmare and because I'm impatient I changed direction and went to the new Waitrose instead. I was pretty impressed with their beauty isle. For a supermarket they have some pretty good stuff; a huge range of Yes To... plus Neals' Yard, Burt's Bees, Balance Me, Korres and Crabtree & Evelyn.

I picked up the Organic Surge Spiced Lily Foaming Bath with Pure Patchouli and Clover Bud Essential oils. They also had this in a lavender scent if that's your thing. Unfortunately, whilst beautiful, lavender sort of reminds me of old ladies and moth balls.

Lets discuss the scent. As soon as the product hits the water the room is filled with the most divine scent. You can smell the warmth of the cloves and and the patchouli offers very subtle floral notes. It smells like a heavenly, wonderful, really expensive spa. Plus I chucked what I thought was a shed load of this into the bath. I assumed about a third of the bottle. Not so! I literally used a tenth! And was left with lots and lots of bubbles.

One of the things that really drew me to this is that it's free of Parabens, SLS (more on this later), synthetic fragrances and colourants. It isn't tested on animals and is certified natural and organic.

Ok, so SLS stands for Sodium lauryl sulphate. SLS is a chemical used in shampoo, bubble bath and toothpaste to thicken and create lather. Don't be fooled into thinking that just because it lathers it must be cleaning. Nope. Just artificial lather for visual purposes only. Whilst by no means the nastiest of chemicals it can cause skin irritation such as dermatitis, which means your skin may become dry and flaky, red or course.

The Organic Surge Spiced Lily Foaming Bath is available from Ocado and is currently in offer for £4.05.

I hope you enjoyed this post, which somehow became a science lesson. Leave me a comment below if you have any bubble bath suggestions for me!
