#GIRLBOSS

I've been making a concerted effort to read more lately. One book that I've found easy to fit into my schedule is #GIRLBOSS. It's such a great book for this time of year because it's so damned motivational.

#GIRLBOSS by Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso is an inspiring, fascinating read that chronicles how she became one of the most successful women in America.

Merry Christmas!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We usually do the big tour at Christmas, heading up to Yorkshire to see my parents, then down to Lichfield to see Dave's family. But this year, we didn't. We went to Yorkshire last weekend as mum was worried about the weather being terrible (as it turns out, she was not wrong) and we had Dave's family over to our new house for Christmas day and Boxing Day.

Winter Roast Vegetables Recipe

Today I’m here to tell you about a great little competition that’s happening over on Instagram and let you know how you can get involved for the opportunity to win a snazzy new AEG appliance!

Life Lately...

You might have noticed things have been a little quiet round these parts lately. And there's very good reason for that... things have been crazy busy because... we're buying a house!

After much deliberation (over the course of a week) we decided to go down the new build route. Two weeks ago we found a little estate in Leamington Spa, had a wonder down, saw a house, decided to buy it and we're meant to be moving in next week! So between signing reams of paperwork, sorting stuff, packing and having only two emotions - absolutely terrified and wildly excited, there hasn;t been all that much spare time for blogging.

Doing the 5:2 diet with The Fast Diet Kitchen

So, I'm trying a new diet. Now, I'm not the biggest fan of diet plans - we all know that it's all about healthy eating and exercise. But after going on holiday and just not paying attention to what I've been eating I feel like a need a giant kick up the arse and a big dollop of motivation.

Why Estate Agents Need to Learn a Lesson from High End Fashion Retailers

It may sound obvious, but a house (or flat) is not a minor purchase. It isn't like buying a packet of chewing gum at the till or grabbing a top for a night out that you'll probably wear once. It's a big, life altering decision and one of the most stressful times of your life. Being a blogger, and female, I find myself drawing similarities between the luxury fashion industry and the property industry. Lets face it, a couple of hundred grand is not small sum.

Tropic Skincare face Smooth Brightening Polish

Sometimes a girl just needs ol' fashioned physical exfoliating face scrub. So while I kiss goodbye to what remains of my holiday tan, I've been reaching for the Tropic Skincare Face Smooth Brightening Polish* to help brighten my complexion.

RetroWarwick Clasic Car Show

This isn't the type of post I usually write. Shockingly, planes, trains and automobiles aren't high on the Tam Loves Tea preferred list of topics.  However, today is an exception because on Sunday Warwick was taken over by the Retro Warwick Classic Car Show.

The Drawing Board, Leamington Spa

On Friday night we decided to get together for a few drinks in Leamington Spa to wave off our friends Sam and Wayne who are relocating to Newcastle.

The Botanist, Birmingham

New bars and restaurants seem to be popping up all over Birmingham at the moment. The Botanist is one such place. With a slightly quirky cocktail menu (expect a sprig of rosmary or some muddled basil), The Botanist provides a rather fresh outlook, offering something different to the usual cosmos and daiquiris of old.

Nosh & Quaff, Birmingham

Last night I went to the prelaunch of Birmingham's hottest new restaurant, Nosh and Quaff. Located in the heart of Birmingham on Colmore Row (right next to the Floozie in the Jacuzzi), Nosh and Quaff promises Birmingham diners a deliciously messy lobster experience. And that my friends is exactly what we got.... #Letsgetmessy

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

You've probably heard how amazing the NARS Creamy Radiant Concealer is by now. It is categorically the best concealer I have ever used. Dewy but not greasy,  it delivers full coverage without caking and works to banish dark circles and blemishes alike.

Rub Smokehouse Review, Birmingham

Rub Smokehouse Birmingham Beat the Meat Taco Burger
Beat the Meat Taco Burger
On Saturday I decided to get the gang together and head into Birmingham to the much anticipated Rub Smokehouse. If it's a belly busting Man vs Food style American BBQ feast you're after, then this is the place for you.

The menu is broken down into sections with 'normal sized portions' and #EPICFOOD. And EPIC is not an exaggeration folks.

A Mini MAC Haul

MAC Cubic Blush and See Sheer Lipstick
I recently picked up a couple of new products from MAC. I think you'll agree I was very restrained!

The powder blush in Cubic is a beautiful matte neutral pink which looks stunning on the cheeks. It's one of those everyday colours that works with every look imaginable. Red lip? Perfect. Smoky eye. Gorgeous.

Whilst matte, it manages not to look powdery and almost melts into the cheeks, creating a natural looking subtle flush. The pigmentation is very good but because of the tone, Cubic manages to never look over done.

The Fuzzy Duck Pub & Kitchen, Nuneaton

A couple of weeks ago Emily kindly invited me along to the opening of the Fuzzy Duck Pub & Kitchen in Nuneaton. I was really excited to try out this new gastropub and meet some fellow foodie bloggers from the Midlands.

St Tropez In Shower Gradual Tan Review

St Tropez In Shower Gradual Tan
St Tropez In Shower Gradual Tan has to be most talked about product of the summer. So when I saw that In Style magazine are currently giving away a 50ml sample I had to pick up a copy and try it for myself.

The Essential Summer Sandal

Ladies, meet my new love... the Birkenstock Arizona*. My word, these shoes are glorious.

If, like me, you're a bit of a Pinterest fiend, you'll have spotted these sandals on the feet of Hollywood actresses, supermodels and fashionistas around the world for around a year or so.

The Arizona is the epitome of ugly pretty. Technically it shouldn't work, but somehow, it just does.

Wine Tasting at Azienda Vinicola Sorrento

When we heard there was a vineyard on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius that offered wine tastings we didn't need much convincing to make a booking there and then.

Sorrento

Hello! If you follow me on Instagram you'll know that I've spent the last couple of weeks on holiday in Sorrento. Our hotel was in the mountains but we spent a few days pottering around town browsing in the shops, drinking coffee and eating gelato.

Warwick Food Festival

Hello! We've just got back from Warwick Food Festival. I'm writing this, cup of tea in hand, listening to my tummy make lots of gargling noises. It's to be expected. We ate rather a lot.

The Spring Wedding Outfit

Oasis Pastel Shadow Border Dress, Roxy Block Heel, Leather Betti Clutch bag
Wedding are a joyful affair. They're also expensive. Paying for the gift, drinks and hotel can all take its toll on your purse. So create the perfect outfit with a timeless dress and classic accessories that you can wear time and time again.

Sun, Sand & Tea

I've just got back from a little shopping trip. Deciding that going into town seemed far too much like hard work, I grabbed my keys and nipped down to the local retail park. Whilst My efforts in New Look and Outfit were wildly unsuccessful, I did find a few things in Debenhams that caught my eye.

This Summer's Red Nail Polish

I've never really been a red nail polish kinda gal. Just like I've never been into leopard print. It's always felt a bit too glam/ man eater-ish for little 'ol me to comfortably pull off.

The Salad Shake Up

I recently picked up Salad Days, a little book chock full of salad recipes which are perfect for spring. I love making salads in the warmer months. They taste delicious and are so quick  and easy to throw together after a hard day at work.

The Warehouse Workwear Edit

Open Collar D Ring Dress
This season Warehouse have workwear covered, proving that corporate doesn't have to mean drab and dull. Lightweight fabrics in unstructured and reworked utility styles provide the perfect office look.

The Denim Dress

Shirt dresses are set to be huge this spring/ summer and I absolutely love this pale denim number. Pair with tan leather sandals, a versatile bag and Ray-Bans for a go everywhere look.

Workspace Inspiration

It has become disturbingly apparent that the lack of storage for my ever increasing hoard of make up has become a serious issue. So naturally I turned to Pinterest to help me solve my storage situation. Two hours later, I want to completely make over my corner of the bedroom and turn it into a beautiful haven of productivity and style.

Check out my inspiration...

The March Lush Haul

The Lush haul is becoming a something of monthly ritual. It helps that the staff are so super helpful that it's like having a crack team of enablers on hand to personally remove my hard earned cash from my purse with a friendly smile.

Gemini Woman Press Day

Last month the lovely ladies at Gemini Woman invited me to preview the Sandwich Clothing SS15 collection at the beautiful Arden Hotel in Stratford Upon Avon. Sandwich is a Danish company, voted best-selling contemporary womenswear brand by Drapers Magazine two years in a row.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Dupe!

Having found myself with a severe lack of perfume (Santa must have forgotten) and with no desire to spend a small fortune, I found myself in Next perusing their small but perfectly formed selection.

The budget contour palette

When I spotted the Sleek Face Form Palette in Superdrug, a purchase was inevitable. The promise of chiseled Giselle like cheekbones without having to give up cake? No brainer.

My Smile Matters

We all have things we'd like to change about ourselves. For me, it's my smile.

I was seven when I knew I needed braces. By my twelfth birthday I'd had 4 molars removed and was eagerly awaiting my first appointment with the Orthodontist. I wore metal braces for two years. It might sound strange but I loved my braces. I loved them because I knew that the end result would make me feel great about my smile.

The Perfect Everyday Lipstick

Tropic Skin Care Colour Click Lipstick
The Tropic Skin Care Colour Click Lipstick* in In Bloom has quickly become a firm favourite that I daren't leave the house without. The luxurious, glossy, sheer formula coats lips in the perfect MLBB shade, great for everyday wear.

Max Factor Excess Shimmer

When I saw the Max Factor Excess Shimmer eyeshadow in Bronze, I knew I had to make it mine. It is a cream/ mouse hybrid in a delicious warm bronze packed with just enough shimmer to add a little somethin' somethin'.

Valentines Day Nails

Love it or loath it there's no avoiding that Saturday is Valentines Day. And whether you have a hot date planned or you're ditching the blokes the and celebrating Galentines Day instead, it's the perfect excuse look pretty in pink. Here are my top picks:

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

I was so excited when Elle dropped through my letterbox this month with a corker of a freebie. Oh yes, a sample size Benefit Roller Lash mascara a whole month before it hit's the Benefit beauty counter.

#ManiMonday: Divine Wine

It is absolutely freezing! I'm currently sat next to the radiator with two blankets wrapped around me drinking tea like a biddy.

Review: La Roche Posay Serozinc

La Roche Posay Serozinc review La Roche Posay Serozinc is the latest cult French Pharmacy offering to cross the Channel.

#ManiMonday: Berry Stain

Maybelline Forever Strong Nail Polish Berry Stain
Today I'm loving the Maybelline Forever Strong Nail Polish in Berry Stain. It's a beautiful purple toned berry hue that's brighter than the vampy shades I've been sporting lately but perfect for the winter to spring transition.

Island Fish Fry

The Island Fish Fry takes place every Thursday night. It's a great opportunity to try some of the local delicacies, namely, Conch. Conch is a type of sea snail which everyone here seems to go crazy over. They absolutely love it. Grilled, fried, made in to fritters, no cooking method is ruled out. I gave the fritters a go. It's an interesting texture, like really soft scampy.

Sunset Cocktails at Amanyara

Amanyara Turks and Caicos
Have you ever dreamed of going to a secluded tropical island and living like a celebrity for a night?

Mudjin Harbour and Dragon Island

The coastal path lead us past this little circle of calm. We sat for a while absorbing the view and the atmosphere, feeling the sun on our skin and the salt in the air.

Middle Caicos: Indian Cave

We crossed the bumpy causeway from North Caicos to Middle Caicos and stopped a little after the Blue Horizon resort.

Day Trippin' in North Caicos

We decided to take a little trip. When I say little I mean we took three flights to visit our friends Sam and Becca in Turks and Caicos. There are worse places for your friends to decide to emigrate to. Just as soon as we landed Sam and Becca suggested a day trip to North and Middle Caicos. So we hopped on a Ferry, hired a Jeep and went for a drive.

#ManiMonday: Essie Turquoise & Caicos

Essie Turquoise and Caicos
I am so over Winter. The mulled wine and roasting chestnuts have bidden us adieu leaving us cold and blue with only the faint hope of Spring to keep us going.

So this week I'm on a mission. To cheer us all up! I'll be rocking the super summery shade Turquoise & Caicos from Essie. A beau-ti-ful turquoise shade that's a little more green than blue and is sure to put a smile on your face.

Lush Bath Haul

Lush Butterbear, Lush Tisty Totsy, Lush Holly Go Lightly, Lush So White, Lush Christmas Eve, Lush Yog Nog Soap
I'll be honest here. I dropped the ball. I've been meaning to do this post for ages but for one reason or another I never got round to it.

So, yes, on this delightful Thursday in January I will be talking about the Lush Christmas Collection *hangs head in shame*.

The New Year Skin Detox

Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Cleansing Mask, The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter, the Bosy Shop Vitamin E Night Cream
Oh December. Parties, late nights and over indulgence. Now we're firmly in the new year it's time to get back on the wagon and undo all of the naughty things we've done to our skin.

No more makeup wipes at 3am folks! It's time to cleanse, cleanse, cleanse! The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter cleans like no other. I'd go as far as to say it's freeking amazing! Scoop a little out, rub it between your fingers until it turns into an oil like consistency and smooth over the skin. It takes even the notoriously hard to remove Benefit They're Real mascara off in seconds. Stunning.

#ManiMonday: Midnight Red

Last week Lora and I went for a manicure. As we were on the verge of the new year I thought I'd go a bit vampy. And you know what? I rather liked it. Totally out of my comfort zone but a little bit fabulous.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I hope you had a fantastic evening. If you follow me on Instagram I'm sure you'll have my many snaps of us eating and drinking our way round London yesterday. As you can see, we went to see the fireworks. And. They. Were. Amazing!
