The budget contour palette

When I spotted the Sleek Face Form Palette in Superdrug, a purchase was inevitable. The promise of chiseled Giselle like cheekbones without having to give up cake? No brainer.
The Sleek Face Form Palette comes in four shades shades (Fair, Light, Medium and Dark) and contains a contour, highlight and a blush. It's worth noting that the blush in the Medium and Dark palettes is replaced with a bronzer.

I picked up the shade Light. For some reason the contour powder translates as heavily orange on camera. On the skin it's more of a soft brown with a slight warm tone - definitely a contour powder and not a bronzer. This is extremely pigmented so use a light hand and be prepared to blend, blend, blend.

I've heard a lot of people comparing this blush to Nars Orgasm. It's a beautiful coral toned pink with a golden shimmer running through it - think rose gold for your cheeks. I was rather worried about how this would look on my pale skin. It is stunning. It really brightens the complexion and creates it's own gorgeous highlight. Because of this I like to apply it along the cheekbones from the temples inwards as I find it looks a bit odd on the apples of the cheeks.

The highlight shade is also beautiful. It's a lovely very pale, peachy pink shade which helps to keep the complexion looking bright and healthy. Unfortunately this isn't as pigmented as the contour and blush. It also doesn't seem to last as long on the skin with touch ups required after a couple of hours.

The slim packaging is compact and sleek (I know, I know, sorry), easy to clean and throw in your handbag. Inside there's a decent sized mirror which makes re-application on the go a more realistic task.

This is a really good product especially for the price. Yes, I think the contour could be a little cooler and the highlight could have a little more lasting power but If you're new to contouring and hesitant to splash the cash on a luxury product this is by far the best pallet I've found on the high street. In fact this would probably beat many of its high end competitors in a blind test.

Have you tried the Sleek Face Form Palette?

  1. The first contour kit I picked up last year just to give it a go, it's lovely! The highlighter isn't too shimmery for me either x

  5. Hi Rebecca, I saw the blush sold separately in boots the other day so all is not lost! I've heard great things about the lipsticks too - similar to NARS apparently!
